How we did it
NVNF organises community group meetings, hands-on skill workshops, and mentorship circles led by local women leaders and board members including Chairperson Susmita Giri.
Impact so far
18,500+ women reached across Sarlahi · Goal: 32,000
Why we started
In villages like Laxmipur and Sasapur, women carry the heaviest burden of household labour yet are often left out of community decisions and income-generating work. New Vision Nepal Foundation was founded in 2072 B.S. with women's empowerment at its core.
Our programmes address this gap by creating safe spaces where women learn practical skills, build confidence, and take on leadership roles within their families and communities.
What happens in a typical session
Sessions begin with a community circle where women share challenges — from limited access to education to economic dependence. Trained facilitators then lead skill-building activities tailored to local needs, such as sewing, small business planning, and cooperative savings groups.
Participants are encouraged to mentor one another. Many women who complete the programme go on to support new groups in neighbouring villages, creating a ripple effect across Sarlahi.
Looking ahead
We are expanding reach to additional wards in Ishwarpur and Shankarpur, with a goal of empowering 32,000 women. Your support funds training materials, facilitator travel to remote villages, and seed grants for women's cooperatives.
